Today I came across a new scrapbook challenge blog.

From their site header, they describes their blog as follows:

This site was developed after a group of us had the thought that we were tired of being one of the herd, fighting for a coveted spot at a “celebrity” scrapbook event only to be disappointed with those classes when we actually attended. We’ve found inspiration, creativity, and artistic talent right in our own backyard. We’ve created this site to challenge each other to try new techniques and products. Challenges will be posted monthly. If you take the challenge, please link back to your personal creative interpretation. Anyone and Everyone can participate and it won’t cost you a thing.

Are you looking for inspiration and a place to share your creativity?

The Scrapdragons blog provides scrapbookers with challenges on the 1st and 15th of the month. They choose winners from the pool of participants on the 15th and 30th. They have a creative team of four scrapbookers and one card artist. They are currently having a call for a Creative Team! The deadline is May 1st. It’s nice that they give you some time to create your best work!

The blog started in July of 2007. On April 1, 2008 they announced their 14th challenge. The challenges have included things such as using “trash” in a unique way, being inspired by a CD cover and the most recent of using something unexpected without having more than two items from the same manufacturer.

The creative team work is impressive and they really seem to match my own personal style. They have lots of layering and texture. Yummy!

If Only…
• They have a link on their sidebar to current card challenge but that was from October of 2007. They had a really cute Halloween card so hopefully they’ll bring that back.
• I’d love to see a page or links to just the prior challenges…the challenges are interesting and they’d be good inspiration to go back to. I don’t know if that’s possible with Blogspot but that would be a nice feature to see.
• A little description with their creative team layouts. An explanation of what materials the creative team used to meet the posted challenge would be nice. For example, on the recent “Use Something Unexpected” challenge I can’t tell what the unexpected item was.

Scrapdragon is great because of the unique challenges and the talented creative team. I hope they have a successful 2008!
